Oh Woe Is You

Posted on Updated on

I’ve always loved to watch people. We all have so very many foibles. We all have strengths and weaknesses, and at points, we all make mistakes. I do all the time, as we know. Characters are all different, yet we insist on thinking that every other soul on the planet thinks pretty much like we do. I’m learning – rapidly – that they really don’t. Everyone has a different agenda. Mine these days is simple. My life has been filled with highs and lows, as has everyone else’s. Quite a few more lows than highs actually, believe it or not. I spent a quite a while being as sour as a lemon, but I got over that. Now when life gets me down, I tell myself that it is MY life, after all. I can do with it what I will. I choose not to be lemonwoman. And this is working for me. I’m enjoying myself.

There are many people out there, suffering genuinely debilitating situations. Real, terrifying mental illness. Abuse. Starvation. Unhappiness is everywhere. All over there is misery to be found, if you want to find it. All inflicted by people. Now my mission in life is to help where I can. Heal where I can. And make lovely friends along the way. This I’m doing quite well. Hi buds!

I am, however, really sick and tired of petty whining. People blaming their woes on the rest of the world, when these blames are unjustified. Note that I said – unjustified. If you’ve been abused and traumatised, mentally or otherwise, you are not included here. I’m on your side if you have been, and ready to help in any way I can. For the others though – I say – get over yourselves! Look inwards, and see that selfishness and jealousy is your motivation for your terrible self-pity. I really don’t feel sorry for people like that. And passive aggression is much more harmful than a punch in the nose. Look around you people. Then really look around you, and see what you have that others can only dream of. I’m done with that sort of thing.

And on that cheerful note, till next time friends. xxx

agree with you here. Too many self egotistical people who feel sorry for themselves for all the wrong reasons. Too many people ready to tear out your eyeballs to make way for their own spectacles. Unfortunately, I feel I am being a ‘lemonwoman’ as you describe! lol but I know that clementine woman will prevail and take away the bitterness. Another ‘to the point’ blog. well done Jo. Oh and Merry xmas & all the best for 2013 🙂 xx

I like the “tear your eyeballs out to make way for their own spectacles” – ha haaa! So true though Elaine. Real suffering is little babies dying of starvation, people being killed and beaten, and those that survive pulling themselves up again, and trying to move on with whatever they have left. I think you’re always clementine woman – one of the sweetest friends I have. Merry Christmas & a lovely 2013 to you – I know it will be 🙂 xxxx

I notice that people forget about obtaining acceptance on their way to finding happiness, and sometimes we probably seek the wrong type of happiness. Many people believe true happiness is feeling delight and pleasure ALL OF THE TIME. So instead of finding happiness we find continuous disappointment.

You’re right Brian. Some people like to feel that they’re the flame, and the rest of the world should be moths around them. Poor souls. Must be a miserable life when the moths all head into the sun instead. LOL! Love your writing by the way. Happy 2013 to you. 🙂

Jo, that is exactly how I feel about whiners and those who keep forgetting life is just too dang short. And for those who feel the world revolves around them and their petty non-problems, suck it up and look around you.
    Well put.

You’re right Lucy. People waste far too much precious time whining about crap, instead of appreciating what they’ve got. We are allowed to whine now and again – LOL – just not all the time. Gets really, really boring. You and I say stuff ’em & do a little jiggle. xxxx
