Happy Valentines Day!
Let the begin! It’s not a secret that I’m an old sloosh-bucket. At this point in my life I feel a lot of love. I love the Earth and most of who sail on her. I feel a very real love for animals, that turns to very real pain when I see them suffering. Then I feel very real urges to go all Greenpeace, and beat the crap out of those doing the hurting. But that’s not what today’s about. I love YOU bloggers! I really do. Over the time I’ve known you, and seen all your wonderful personalities shine through in all sorts of wonderful ways, I’ve grown very partial to so many of you. So. Once again I give to you the words of one of my favourite poets, and my favourite poem of all time.
How Do I Love Thee?
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
my soul can reach, when feeling out of sight.
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use, in my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
And some mellow love vibes to continue my slooshing of you today.
I hope you have a wonderful day of love, wherever on this floating rock you’re lurking over a hot keyboard. And…. MWAH! Sloosh out.

Me too – he’s sublime. I never feel the need to hop over any song on any of his albums either. 😀

There are some bloggers that you feel have become friends despite great distances. Jo Robinson is one of those and I have come to rely on both her super blogs and also her support both here, Twitter and on Google+ – Valentine’s Day is over for another year but the sentiment that prompts this annual celebration is one that should be for every day of the year. Elizabeth Barrett Browning was the first poet that I really ever read and that was because of the musical and wonderful lyrics in Robert and Elizabeth with June Bronhill and Keith Michell in 1964 – lyrics of songs and poems keep love alive as long as you keep listening and reciprocating. Thanks Jo for a lovely Valentine’s day post.
