Having invited everyone to join the Rave Reviews Club, you might have heard that I’m no longer in it. Sometimes there are just too many things going on – life’s a funny old thing that way. Anyway. I had to take a step back, and I’m going to have to slow down a little online to deal with a couple of real life issues for just a while until they’re fixed.
I do have to say though, that I’m totally behind the Rave Reviews Book Club, what they stand for, what they’re doing, and I think that the people in it are great, and the support that is being given and shared is just fantastic. I have no intention of not keeping up my end of the book buying and reviewing deal that I signed up for, and that’s still what I’m doing and will carry on doing – got three on the go right now. I’m all for this club, and I wouldn’t want anyone to think that I don’t totally support what they are doing because I can’t partake too much right now. So good luck to everyone there – you’re all doing wonderfully.
On a bit of a bum note. When I published African Me & Satellite TV, Amazon loaded a completely different Kindle book, using the Createspace file somehow. This item was rotten as far as formatting was concerned, and pretty much unreadable as far as I could see. Not to mention that they were charging the paper book price for it. Not great stuff. I reported it, and was told that it was gone and that all was hunky dory. Well – not so much. I’ve had some really bad reviews about editing/formatting, so I’ve been racking my old brain trying to figure out why. I’ve gone through the book and found a couple of typos and grammar gremlins, but couldn’t see any formatting problems, so I got hold of Amazon again. Eventually one of those guys found that Createspace thing was still there – and that people had bought it! It should be totally gone in a day or so, but still, I’m really not happy that anyone would think that I would actually try to sell such an abomination, so if anyone actually has bought it, please contact me so that I can fix the problem.
Zooming off – will catch up with all you lovely people in just a bit.
