Que Sera and Stuff

Posted on

This harsh bug-busting diet I’ve been on has taken me down a bit. Quite a bit actually, which is why I haven’t been around the interweb so much lately. I like to think that I’m getting better in small stages, but this is obviously a process that just has to follow its course. It’s amazing the effect on your body what you put in your mouth can have. I’m not giving it up, and I’ll just have to get on with whatever new and interesting symptoms that pop up when they do. I’m feeling really blurgh and feverish right now though, so I’m going to have to forgo my usual zooming for the next couple of days, and try and get back to normal.

I had no choice but to surface to fetch Angus from the airport. It’s only a hundred odd kilometres away, so not normally a big deal to drive. Not so cool this time though. After scaring the daylights out of myself after nearly passing out a couple of times, and driving in rotten gale-force winds bouncing cars around the highway, I mercifully arrived in one piece just in time to meet the plane. No plane though – instead, a phone call from Angus to let me know that it had been turned back just as they were approaching the airport due to problems with the steering. Ack! They had made a full on emergency landing back at Johannesburg, well away from the main runways in a terrifying hair-raising way, with the pilot battling his steering problems as well as incredibly high winds, amid a load of emergency vehicles. Good for him for getting it right! Then they were bussed to another plane which turned out to be heading to a completely different province, turned away – poor wobbly guys, eventually put on one heading in the right direction, and after much angst, landed bopping and boogying in the insane wind without any injuries. It was the scariest wait I’ve ever had, although I must say, after eyeballing those disembarking passengers, not close to as scary as their bloodcurdling trip must have been. I’ll just stay close to the ground for a bit I reckon – the couch it is for a while.

You can never predict what’s going to happen next. I’m always having things happen to slow me down, and then I’m always getting up, dusting myself off, and expecting to carry on with my zooming, but obviously life doesn’t work like that. Never mind. All these little storms pass, so I’ll hopefully be back to crashing around my lovely interweb soon, trying not to break stuff. Snoozeville now though.

How terrifying for Angus -but glad he is home for awhile – help you get back on your feet. Sorry the process is proving so long but we all look forward to the day you bounce back onto our screens. Hugs. XXS

Thank you my lovely Sally – I’m hoping that this isn’t some sort of candida con, but today I’m really feeling totally good, apart from a tiny chill now & then. I’m rattling with supplements, and have totally switched over to no sugar/low carb diet. I was blown away by the fatigue & brain fog though – just moving a foot was way too hard – never again for sure! I made some choccies with cocoa, coconut oil & xylitol just now & they taste really cool to me, so I guess I’m back after all. 😀 LOVES and HUGS – it’s great to be back my friend! ❤ xxxxx

Lovely to have you back and baby steps! A tough journey but fingers crossed now through the worst. Great job and worth writing about for other sufferers perhaps! Just in the throes of outside work to get ready for Estate Agent in a couple of weeks. Bittersweet after 15 years. Never mind, new adventures to come. XXX♥

Baby steps for sure! 😀 I’m definitely going to add all that I’ve discovered to my candida blog post – it will probably end up really long, but I reckon if anyone needs to know these things they won’t mind. You’ll have such wonderful memories of your 15 years Sally, and no regrets I’m sure. Going home is such a joy that those memories just make it better. At least we didn’t have to pack though – good old Zimbabwe – Haaa haaaa! MWAH! XXXXXXX

Thank you Babs! I reckon the worst is done now, and I SO bow to anyone who has to battle any sort of ongoing illness for any period of time though. I’m really interested at the connections I’ve found to everything from depression to cancer with this candida thing. It’s seriously tough killing it, but I’m amazed at some weird symptoms I’ve always had being gone now. 🙂 xxxx

Thank you Chris – I just think I might be better now! Hairy flights… 😀 I don’t fly these days – I mostly only want to be scribbling – but I used to quite enjoy it. Especially the take offs in the big planes – you wouldn’t get me on a small plane for love or money though – dangerous little buggers those. 🙂 x

Jo – if you feel like it, check out Oil Pulling Therapy on the net — a friend with a similar disorder tried it and it worked wonders — its an ancient Ayurvedic technique — very easy to do and powerful — i do it everyday now and would never want to give it up. All you have to do is gargle with pure sesame oil for 20 minutes the moment you wake up. It removes all the toxins/mucus from body–you can feel it. Best!

Thanks Mira! I’ll definitely start that – I’ve got a new bottle of sesame oil too. I’ve battled with the toxins because I couldn’t find the molybdenium amino acid chelate that everyone recommends & have been taking some epsom salts baths and that sort of thing. I actually reckon those baths are really brilliant & I’ll carry on taking them now too just because you feel so good afterwards. xxxx

It’s been a really crap month Laurie, but I’m glad it happened – I reckon I’ve had systemic candiasis from around the age of 9 looking back now & with symptoms that have nothing to point in the direction of candida – I’m starting to see some amazing changes in everything, so all good. I can’t find that colloidal silver, but I’ve been on a murderous rampage with oil of oregano & coconut oil and stuff. The mercury overload has been crap, but I’m sure I’m over the worst now. xxxx

Thanks Laurie – did you also have an overgrowth? I’m blown away by the die back, and the fact that these things have been in charge of my whole body for decades. I started the oregano oil caps last week, and they’re brilliant. I must admit, even though I love garlic, it’s getting a bit old chewing them raw and washing down with apple cider vinegar. Blurgh. I’m sure I’m almost out of the woods now though – no more fevers, but still the red itchy face and neck sometimes. Losing a couple of kgs has been a great bonus though. 😀

You’re welcome Jo. No I have the oregano powder caps, used them for inflammation, they’re great. I can’t imagine how distressing it would be to have candida, the stuff loves our insides though. I take apple cider vinegar too, it’s great stuff. Oh, the garlic that has to be good. 😦 Give it six months Jo and you’ll be fighting fit. Oh yeah, there’s nothing like a bit of weight loss. Well done that woman.
            Cheers
