Terry Pratchett
I’ve been in love with this man ever since I was a teen and read The Carpet People. I’ve read every little thing he’s ever written multiple multiple multiple times too – they grow my soul and make me laugh like no one else has ever done. Right now I have to take my eyeball to some place where it can vegetate in the closed position, but old one eye or not, I’ll write my tribute to the greatest comedy fantasy writer of all time tomorrow. It will be EPIC. It will be VERY LONG. It will be full of love, and rude humour. In the meantime, I’m pretty sure our Sir Terry had some awesome rat-on-a-stick nibbles out for the reaper, and some knock out Ankh Morpork booze. So sorry that your next book will be written amongst the stars, but those of us who believe in the great A’Tuin – that the turtle moves – know that we will find you again some day. We’ll read your next book there. With me always Sir Terry Pratchett.

If I learnt anything about writing humour it was from Sir Terry Pratchett. And then on top there was the courageously public way he showed how he dealt with his Alzheimer’s diagnosis. One of the gentle modern heroes and a loss to the world of great writing. Jo’s tribute here says it better than I.

And he had the early onset Alzheimer’s, what a shame. I know how awful it is as my mom has been suffering with it for almost 5 years.

Your poor eye! Hope there’s some improvement. I just discovered Terry Pratchett, thanks to a friend of mine, a while ago. Love his Discworld.
What a shame that he died relatively young and of that terrible disease that takes the mind away, Alzheimer’s.

Those starting out have got a lot of brilliant reads. I love re-reading all his books, although I’ve still got a couple of his newer one’s waiting for me to start in on – my TBR list seldom allows time for my old faves these days. HUGS! X

Yes, I am sad he died, but he probably wanted to. What an imagination! My favourite is ” Small Gods” – Gods get smaller when nobody believes in them. I will miss Terry Pratchett badly.
