Memories are made of this.. West Side Story 1964 – ‘Tonight’
This brings back memories of snow fights in the Ceres mountains too. 😀 We only got television in 1976 in South Africa if my memory’s working properly today – and we still had fun too. Here’s our lovely Sally with happy childhood memories of SA.

Yes, I like people who can write on anything and Sally can and always writes well. Oh yes, I can sing an excellent ‘Maria’ at least when no one is around! Can’t dance like those guys though, the women and men all dance superbly in West Side Story.

Love it! It’s so cool when guys are confident enough with the macho to let loose – although I only get to sing when I’m alone and travelling fast enough in a car for nobody to be able to hear me – been threatened and likened to banshees. 😀

We will have to do a Skype duet one day. I’m sure people are only jealous of your voice. There aren’t many open roads in London but I’ve got used to people staring at me singing away at traffic lights. 🙂

Now that would be a thing! 😀 Could be a writerly thing, this sense of freedom to sing in our cars. I remember being run off the road a bit by a tractor in Milton Keynes when we were over there, and I wasn’t even whispering. 🙂

Leonard Bernstein was an incredible musician and composer… I loved the piano run up to Tonight!
