Shower Takeover

Posted on

The parrots normally bath in a big plastic container – have done for the past twenty years, but Beanie, being the only girl in the horde is generally open to new ideas. Jelly and Button have the kitchen tap turned on low every day for their ablutions.

Today though, being a scorcher, Beanie decided to get in on the action.

Now that I would love to see! Kitties aren’t generally so fond of showers. 🙂

        *Cat… (read before sending woman😉 )
She wouldn’t have a bath voluntarily, but the rnning tap always attracted her so much she learned to turn it on herself.
Thinking baout it, all my animals have always been strange…😉

Sorry! I’ll fix that. I reckon I need to change my theme because the font here is really blurry – it looked like cat to me. 🙂 I think that animals respond to the way they’re treated – if you let them be anything they want to be then they will – so not strange – just cool like you. 🙂 XX PS. If you had had a car that liked the taps, that might have been a bit strange. 😉

Amazing. I’ve never had birds as pets. What cute little characters.

They’re amazing Diana, although I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone who couldn’t spend most of their time with them. The weavers are the cleverest little guys I’ve ever come across in animal world – if they were any bigger I reckon they’d rule the world. 🙂

We have hummingbirds and stellar jays as frequent visitors, and we get such a kick out of them. I’m happy just having them around.🙂

Thank you Annika! My next mission in life is to get a video of them singing – too cute! I didn’t have time to change lenses this time, so now I’ll be prepared. 🙂

MEGA SQUEEEEE and MEGA HUGS Teagan!! They’re the cutest. One’s snoozing the heat of the day away on my chair next to me now, and the other one’s weaving a bit of paper into my hair – it’s his day job. ❤ XXXX

You’ve reminded me of a budgie we used to have years back. She loved the tap!

I adore budgies! They’ve got so much character – cockatiels too. It’s really cool watching the outside birds – if you have a small sprinkler going, they all hit the shower. XX

You are so clever! How did you manage to get the photos?!? I’ve been trying to get photos of the neighbour cats what have taken up abode on my front deck- they mill about whenever the door is opened, but a photo?!?!? I have some of them eating, but they’re full of shadows. Simple, effective post. I like it!

It was pure luck this time Kate – thank you! These photos didn’t come out well because of the rush to get them, but now I’m going to make sure that the camera’s ready for the cuteness. They’re slippery little guys. 🙂

Thank you Catherine – love my little guys. Your posts are fascinating. I’ve never had experience or known anyone with that particular issue but it sounds really challenging to cure and a hard road to tread, so much respect to you. HUGS! XXXX

That would make a lovely pic Sally! There’s a challenge – taking a pic of a wiggling and splashing little bunch of feathers without getting your lens wet. ❤

Thank you Ines! I’m still learning to use my camera, and before that I had changed lenses without changing the settings so they didn’t come out too well. My photos at this point are mostly luck when they’re good. 😀 Few years practice needed. ❤

That was really cute. My daughter had a love bird. He didn’t like bathing but would inch his way out on the rubber mat of the divide between the two kitchen sinks until he got to the running tap, wet his beak, then fluff up as though he was drying off. He was a real conman, and I told him so. He accidentally got a bath when he fell off the shower curtain rod while my husband was showering. 😀 Sorry I’m getting to this piece so late. I got behind in my emails.
