Seriously? Are you still stupid enough? There is no justification for a croc or any other skin handbag – #FollowYourFeel #PETA

Mm. No leather shoes, belts, handbags, clothing? Ultimately wherein lies the difference?

There is more than enough leather from the meat industry. Why do we have to have the skins of any old animal that we fancy? And if we really MUST have all this, can we at least ensure that the animals aren’t given a terrible life and skinned after it actually ends? Way to much greed and undeserved entitlement on this planet.

The meat industry couldn’t survive without the leather. Or so I read years ago, but I don’t contribute to either, let alone any other type of fur/skin.

Compassion is an unfashionable word 😦

You’re so right. I also don’t eat meat. I try not to be mean to those who do, but sometimes I’ll see something and the top of my head blows off. If anything moves around this world, there’s always someone who wants to wear it or eat it. 😦

I think part of the issue is that people don’t think. If you grow up eating meat, why change? And my parents sold meat for a living, so you can imagine how impressed they were when I ‘came out’. I limit the number of vegetarian posts I write so I don’t switch people off, and try to make them more on advice lines, ie how to cater.

But there would be a lot less environmental damage, a lot fewer starving people, and a lot of healthier people if more of us ate less/no meat. A friend who worked for an aid agency once told me there is enough food available (or could be) to feed the world. That we don’t do it is a sin. And that we kill animals for personal gratification in whatever way is another. Sorry. /rant

I agree with every word – perfect rant in my eyes. My mom also raised animals for slaughter and milk, and I also was a carnivore for years. I think your way is the right way – people get really angry with vegetarians and posts about animal cruelty. The ones with how they raise chickens and the babies in grinders always have me in tears, because they’re so cheap to buy and get wasted more than any other meat I’ve heard – such a terrible sin that they have to go through all that just to end up cooked and uneaten in a bin. I saw so many going without food up in Zimbabwe, seeing the waste (like that festival where they chuck tons of perfectly good tomatoes in the streets) makes me so angry. You’re right – there is more than enough food to feed the world – it’s just way too much trouble to try for the powers that be though. Love all your words here! The cruelty is another thing that blows me away – some people are just plain evil.

This is an evil practice which only humans would have thought of. Inflicting this pain and torment for the sake of fashion..
