About

Born in the windy city of Port Elizabeth, I live in South Africa with my feathered horde. I originally started this blog as a “diary” for two of the characters in one of my books, but as it does, life took a different turn here and there, and now it’s just my blog.
I am a writer, an illustrator, and an online teacher, so I blog about writing, books, and arty things, but not only that. I blog about things that happen, things that I like or don’t like, or anything that catches my interest enough for me to focus on.
Sometimes I’m very serious, and sometimes I really am not.

I have nominated you for the Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award. I know another award is a pain, but I did promise the nominator that I would try and fulfill the requirements. You are under no such obligation. The good news is the nominations should be blogs that I enjoy reading and yours is certainly that. Go here to see the blog: http://wp.me/p2Qoij-Uc

I saw the part under a post about “The Purple Pitch Seduction of America.” I was just having an online discussion about that very topic with an online acquaintance of 11 years. I can’t call him an online friend because at this point in my life, I tend to surround myself with friends of the same political persuasion and interests.

The extreme left (the blue) and the extreme right (the red) meet in the middle (blue plus red equals purple) for the purposes of the general election. In their own primaries, they really are blue and red, and after the general election, the return to blue and red. Oh, boy, though, in that general election it’s all about who can tell the most believable lies to get to all those purple people (independents, undecided), and all it does is make a mess.

I have just been nominated for the ‘Amazing Blogger Award’ and I’d certainly like to nominate you in turn. You have an amazing array of awards Jo but I see you don’t have this one. It is entirely up to you whether you accept it or not. Details can be fond on my post I’ll be publishing later tonight. I hope you accept.

Hello Jo, As I was scrolling through my blog this evening I noticed that you gave us a “like” on the post “LGBT Woes”. Thank you for your kindness. Through that one click of a button you opened the door of your world to us. I’m not a huge fan of traveling but I certainly enjoy reading stories of people who live in different parts of this beautiful world. Feel free to visit us often (you never know what we might be up to).
Also, we’ve received numerous positive comments on “LGBT Woes” and we realize that not everyone agrees with. Non the less we’d like to share these thoughts with as many people as we can. Our goal is to help educate therefore we have started this quest. If you are able to and interested in joining us simply reblog the post. Thanks for all that you do to help make the world a better place.

Thank you Jo for the visit. I too am a writer, more for informational articles than books. And poetry is well out of my “wheelhouse!” I was published first with a sports story on NFL coach Vince Lombardi several years ago. Now, however, I write posts for my church in connection with the blog you visited.

Good fortune to you in your career, and please visit as you have the time!

Thank you Steve, and keep on writing. Poetry is hard to write – I find it much harder than just writing a story, although I do love to read it.

We are alike in that way. I enjoy light poetry, nothing too dark. My mother wrote children’s poems for several kids magazines and taught school for 33 years…(grade school, of course).

Thanks for writing. Enjoy your day…

Any chance you could persuade the sun to shine like that on wet, very green and dreary Ireland? It is summer here and houses had heating turned on last night. The neighbourhood was humming with the generators working. As a writer I will follow with delight in the hope I can pick up some tips along the way.

    Jorobinson!
It happens to many it has to you and it has happened to me; the purpose and interest of starting a blog leads to something very astonishing. When you start getting the response and the feed back you are almost flying in the air. Your creativity gets boosted and your pattern of thinking also changes and you are booked for life. This is what has happened to me Jo!
I felt it is a very wonderful world, very supportive, encouraging and lovable. Like in real world there are things in the virtual world also, I think we have to ignore them. So I follow You this very moment.
I am always thankful to WordPress for this.
I shall see your posts also, I just browsed them, they seem to be interesting.
    Fond Regards
    Shiva
